Festival Schedule & Class Descriptions 2026

Friday, August 7th, 2026

12:00-1:00pm: Tap Class | Brent McBeth | Adv. Beginner

1:00-2:00pm: TAP Swing Rhythm| Jenna Roe | Intermediate*

Swing Rhythm is a musical feel where beats are divided unequally creating a “lifting” or “bouncy” feel. This style, integral to rhythm tap, emphasizes musicality and allows dancers to better express the nuances of swing and jazz music through their movement.

2:15-3:15pm: Musical Theater Style | Emily Jones | Beginner-Adv. Beginner*

Musical Theater style tap class will consist of a light-hearted combo set to a classic musical theater standards.  Class will focus on dynamics, arms, upper body, and traditional stylizations.

3:15-4:15pm: TAP Counter Point | Danielle Heller | ALL Levels*

This class will explore the different layers of counter point. It will start by learning to design a base rhythm and expand out to exploring with a variety of different melodic over laying rythtms. Engagement with counter point is helpful in devloping musicality and supportive of choreographic design.

4:30-5:30pm: TAP class | Brent McBeth |  Adv. Beginner-Intermediate

5:30-6:30pm: TAP Class | Barbara Duffy (schedule pending)| Intermediate-Advanced

      Saturday, August 8th, 2026

      10:00-11:00am: TAP Progressions & Traveling| Emily Jones | Adv. Beginner

      This class will focus on some center and traveling combinations that will move gradually through steps that build upon other steps while executing clean rhythmic phrases.

      11:00-12:00pm: TAP Class | Barbara Duffy (schedule pending)| Adv. Beginner 

      11:00-12:00pm: TAP Class | Brent McBeth | Advanced

      12:15-1:15pm: TAP Class | Jenna Roe | Advanced

      ADVANCED classes are small, intimately sized classes for more of a one-on-one tap class experience with our guest faculty. Class size is limited.

      12:15-1:15pm: TAP Class | Lauren Kleiman | Adv. Beginner-Intermediate

      1:15-2:15pm: TAP “Begin to Beguine” | Brent McBeth | Intermediate

      Learn this incredible tap dance choregography from “Broadway Melody of 1940” originally danced by the unmistakable Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire. Regarded as one of the greatest dance routines in film history.

      2:30-3:30pm: FEARLESS Improvisation | Barbara Duffy (schedule pending)| ALL Levels

      If you are afraid to improvise, this is the class for you! Barabara Duffy provides tools and exercises for dancers to help reduce anxiety when improvising, as well as expant their creativity for a rewarding experience! All levels are welcome!

      3:30-4:30pm: TAP JAM | Barbara Duffy & Faculty | ALL Levels

      Come ONE, Come All! Join in the fun as we dance and exchange rhythms with each other in an open jam, hosted by Barabara Duffy. ALL Level dancers are encouraged to participate in a supportive setting with the intention of having FUN! Observers welcome! 

        Sunday, August 9th, 2026

        10:00-11:00am: TAP Pullbacks | Brent McBeth | Adv. Beginner-Low Advanced

        This class will focus on the Pullback technique and execution. Good for those who are just learning through to the more advanced dancer who wants to work on clarity and clean sounds. Level is listed as Adv. Beginner through the Low Advanced dancer.

        11:00-12:00pm:  TAP “Choreo Dance” | Danielle Heller | Adv.Beginner

        This choreography will celebrate the groovy feel of Bill Wither’s 1977 hit Lovely Day. We will play with the basic manipulations and a variety of different patterns.
